Food Sensitivity

How to Find Your Food Sensitivities.

  •    What is the difference between a food sensitivity and a food allergy?

Food allergies are immediate reactions that cause symptoms like throat swelling, hives, or anaphylaxis. Common food allergies are peanuts and shellfish.

  • These reactions can take up to 4 days to show up and they can cause symptoms like bloating, diarrhea, constipation, headaches, skin rashes, fatigue, and anxiety. These symptoms interfere with people’s ability to “feel well” and since these are delayed-type of reactions, identifying food sensitivities can be troublesome.

  • A simple blood test will identify which foods your body is negatively reacting to. 3 out of 4 people have a non-celiac gluten sensitivity and 3 out of 4 people have sensitivities to dairy. Testing over 90 foods, most people find at least 10 or more foods their body is reacting to they didn’t even know about.

*"Things are continuing to go well. My energy level has improved so much. I continue to learn what food items help my body and what ones don’t. I am enjoying being able to create meal plans and workout plan and coming here has given me the encouragement & knowledge to do that."

*" I’ve had ongoing issues since I was a child. I had digestive issues like bloating, cramping, and trouble losing weight. I spent several hours of my day in the bathroom. I was moody and I had a lot of trouble with brain fog and lack of energy. I just couldn’t concentrate, and I was irritable because of it. Dr. Province spoke to me about doing a food sensitivity test and after a simple blood draw,

I discovered I was sensitive to a lot of foods that I ate daily. After an elimination diet, supplementation, and chiropractic regimen, I’ve felt more alert and my energy levels are up! I don’t have to plan my day around my digestive issues anymore! I’ve also lost 35 lbs since I started the program 4 months ago! This is the best I’ve ever felt in my entire life. That test was the best thing I could’ve done for my health."

*" My daughter, Sydney, was a regular patient at her Primary Care’s office since birth. As a baby, she suffered from recurring bouts of coughing and sinus drainage that progressively worsened over the years. As she grew older, more problems popped up including recurring UTIs and Ear Infections. She complained of stomach pain so often I was giving her pepto daily.

It got so bad that her nurse would call me at least 3 times a week to ask if I’d given her today’s pepto and to come pull Sydney out of school because of her stomach pains. Her allergies worsened to where she needed to be on breathing treatments. We were on a vicious cycle of anti-biotics on and off for a year.

We did the food sensitivity test which came back showing reaction to foods she ate frequently. After eliminating the foods from her diet, a regimen of probiotics along with other supplementation, and chiropractic adjustments, Sydney is so doing much better! I haven’t had to pull her out of school for stomach problems anymore and no more daily pepto!

This year’s allergy season was a breeze because she didn’t have to do any breathing treatments this year. And to top things off, she hasn’t been on antibiotics since we started this about 4 months ago whereas before she would’ve been on at least 2 rounds of anti-biotics by now. Now she’s on a maintenance regimen of probiotics and adjustments now and feeling better than ever!"

*" I’ve been struggling with my weight for over 5 years. I gained almost 70 lbs and couldn’t get the weight off no matter what I tried. I was eating a healthy diet and exercising 4 times a week without any prevail. I wasn’t happy with who I saw in the mirror and it took a heavy toll on me emotionally.

I would stand in front of the mirror and cry when it came time to buy new clothes until eventually it started taking a toll on my health. I didn’t have the same energy I used to. I felt bloated and sluggish all the time. I couldn’t concentrate to the point of feeling anxious because I could see and feel I wasn’t myself. I was tired of feeling tired, so I did the food sensitivity test and was very surprised to find that I was sensitive to the foods I was eating daily. I came back sensitive to 18 foods, including chicken and salmon, which I ate regularly.

I couldn’t fathom the thought of eliminating them from my diet, I seriously love chicken! But I loved feeling great more than I loved chicken, so I eliminated it along with the other foods I was sensitive to. After the elimination diet, supplements, and a chiropractic regimen I started to feel like myself again within about 2 weeks. I wasn’t sluggish and I could carry out a conversation without getting stuck in my own thoughts again. The bloating subsided and I even lost 40 lbs over the next 3-4 months. So glad I did the test, it was well worth it to feel like myself again!"
